More Jobs For the Rats Deserting the Sinking Ship!

Water Minister Tony Burke’s appointment of former NSW Labor Minister Craig Knowles as the new Murray Darling Basin Authority Chair is deeply concerning.

Minister Burke served in NSW State Parliament with Mr Knowles who held a variety of portfolios in the revolving-door shemozzle that is NSW Labor.

The decision to politicise such an important job by appointing a Senior Minister from such a disastrous Government is astounding.

“Tony Burke didn’t like what Mike Taylor had to say so he has been replaced with a Labor mate. The people of the Murray-Darling will not be so easily duped,” said Shadow Minister for Water Barnaby Joyce.

“Labor has already caused immense damage throughout the Basin, with house prices falling by an average of 10% since the Guide to the Draft Plan was released. It doesn’t matter who heads up the Murray-Darling Basin Authority they are bound by the riding instructions of the Water Act. Mike Taylor, the former Chair of the Murray-Darling Basin Authority, the Productivity Commission and Professor of Law George Williams all agree that the environment must take precedence over social and economic factors under the existing Water Act.

“While Labor refuses to investigate the Water Act, they are refusing to help those left behind by their Basin Plan. NSW Labor’s unrivalled reputation for incompetence and failure to deliver is unwelcome news if this is the style to be brought to the MDBA,” said Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for the Murray-Darling Basin Simon Birmingham.

“While Federal Labor is quickly earning a similar reputation, we must hope that Basin reform will not fall victim to the NSW Government malaise of death by focus group and press release.

“Mr Knowles will inherit a reform process that has already gone off the rails under Labor’s watch and he now has a difficult and challenging job ahead of him. It is a job of immense importance to the future of the health of the river and to Basin communities.

“Australians deserve a good Basin Plan, not a NSW Labor-style ‘plan’.”

Alarmist of the Year!

 Alarmist of the Year McKeon

I always thought the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Research Organization (CSIRO) was a scientific organisation. It even mentions "scientific" in its title.

Then I wonder how in the hell the Gillard Government can appoint a person to head this scientific organisation who has not one scientific credential to his name?

Daily Telegraph columnist Miranda Devine has the following to say about "jobs for the boys".

Having awarded the Australian of the Year to alarmist Tim Flannery in 2007, whose wild predictions concerning the effects of the Green Climate Monster are well known, and almost always wrong, they have this year awarded the honour to another climate evangelist, Simon McKeon.

McKeon was given the role of CSIRO chairman… despite not being a scientist, but it seems that being a warmist makes him even better qualified for the job. Miranda Devine does the business:

YOU don't want to rain on the parade of a man who is so highly regarded that he has just been named Australian of the Year.
Nor do you want to detract from the charitable works for which Simon McKeon has been so honoured.
But the former Macquarie banker deserves censure for his pronouncements on climate change on ABC radio yesterday in which he enthusiastically described himself as a "100 percent believer" who wants to push Australia into a carbon trading scheme by stealth.
He deserves censure not least because last year he was appointed chairman of the CSIRO, despite having no background in science.
Asked by Melbourne radio host Jon Faine if he saw his role at the CSIRO as an opportunity to "shape and influence" its work on climate change, the 55-year-old lawyer said: "Oh, absolutely - it doesn't need any encouragement from me."
…
Why a non-scientist should be considered a suitable chairman of our pre-eminent scientific body is anyone's guess, but it is another indication of the decline of a once great institution.
It is a tragedy that the CSIRO is a shadow of its former self, reduced by to a mouthpiece for climate alarmism.
McKeon, 55, should be careful about sullying his philanthropic name with warmist politics. More importantly, he should refrain from using his new platform to further damage the credibility of the CSIRO. (source)
The guy is described as a former Macquarie banker! Enough said, we all know a carbon tax is another bankster con job put in place to keep making the banks fantastically rich at our expense.

Arctic Air Blast Brings Temperatures of 50 Below to New England In US.

Vote For Greens/Labor Carbon Tax To Make This Man Even Richer!

Train equipment froze, cars sputtered, schools canceled classes and cold-weather enthusiasts stayed inside Monday as a bitter blast of below-zero temperatures with potentials for minus 50 wind chills gripped the Northeast US. The gasp-inducing cold tested the mettle even of New Englanders, who pride themselves on winter hardiness.'

More global warming folks?

A Climate Cover-Up

Al "Shonkey" Gore.
Investors.com reports:

'Democrats in Virginia are trying to stop their attorney general from probing climate fraud carried out by university researchers at taxpayer expense. Are they afraid of finding the inconvenient truth?

It's not the crime, it's the cover-up, as the saying goes. In the case of former University of Virginia climate scientist Michael Mann and his supporters, it may be both.

Not only did Mann participate in perhaps the greatest scam of modern times, but he may have also have fraudulently used taxpayer funds to do so.

At least Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli thinks so, and has been diligently trying to obtain from U.Va. documents and e-mails related to Mann's work there. Mann reportedly received around $500,000 from taxpayer-funded grants from the university for research there from 1999 to 2005.'

Cuccinelli is alleging a possible violation of a 2002 statute, the Virginia Fraud Against Taxpayers Act. The AG has said that he wants the documents, including grant applications and e-mails exchanged between Mann and 39 other scientists and university staffers, to help determine whether Mann committed fraud by knowingly manipulating data as he sought the taxpayer-funded grants for his research.

Lynching Good Men Is What They Like To Do!

'In May of 2010, the council said Andrew Wakefield could no longer practice medicine. Wakefield’s public statements caused widespread alarm that a common childhood vaccine could cause autism has been put down even though evidence and common sense are on his side.

This doctor is a medical hero who is being slandered because his voice comes from within the ranks of medicine and this cannot be tolerated. Poison the children, stick them with needles, drug ’em, cut them out of their mothers’ bellies in increasing numbers, and give them, in every case possible, pharmaceuticals instead of safer and more effective natural remedies.'

So threatened the establishment has been by Wakefield’s work that they have to repeatedly attack him and his study in an attempt to beat his work into the ground in an endless, ruthless campaign. The latest headlines: “Study linking vaccine to autism was fraud.” His suggestion that the MMR shot was connected to autism spooked parents worldwide and immunization rates for measles, mumps and rubella have never fully recovered making him a hero in many people’s eyes and totally despised by the popes and priests of vaccination.

Thanks to the good doctor and many other fine physicians of courage, parents are turning their backs on institutionalized pediatric medicine; in 2008, 39 percent of parents refused or delayed vaccinations for their children. This compares to just 22 percent in 2003. In a telephone survey of the parents of 9,000 toddlers, many of the parents were worried about whether the vaccines were safe or effective. Most of them probably have learned the hard way not to believe and trust the government’s medical officials or their local pediatricians.

NASA Climatologist Calls for Chinese Style Dictatorship to Deal With Global Warming

November's election made it quite clear that the people of the United States do not want to radically change their society in the name of global warming.

The nation's most prominent publicly funded climatologist is officially angry about this, blaming democracy and citing the Chinese government as the "best hope" to save the world from global warming. He also wants an economic boycott of the U.S. sufficient to bend us to China's will.

NASA laboratory head James Hansen's anti-democracy rants were published while he was on a November junket in China, but they didn't get much attention until recently.

According to Mr. Hansen, compared to China, we are "the barbarians" with a "fossil-money- 'democracy' that now rules the roost," making it impossible to legislate effectively on climate change. Unlike us, the Chinese are enlightened, unfettered by pesky elections. Here's what he blogged on Nov. 24:

"I have the impression that Chinese leadership takes a long view, perhaps because of the long history of their culture, in contrast to the West with its short election cycles. At the same time, China has the capacity to implement policy decisions rapidly. The leaders seem to seek the best technical information and do not brand as a hoax that which is inconvenient."

Has this guy ever heard of the Gang of Four? Or the Cultural Revolution, which killed those who were inconvenient? Or the Great Leap Forward, which used the best technical information to determine that a steel mill in every backyard was a good idea?

Swan Raids Your Pensions to Shore Up Bank Profits!

Citizens Electoral Council of Australia Report.

The only difference between Wayne Swan’s scheme to give banks access to Australia’s $1.4 trillion in super funds, and the IMF’s order to the Irish government to grab billions of euros from Ireland’s pension fund to bail out the Inter-Alpha banks, is the Irish people know it is stealing, but Aussies are being conned that it is an “investment”, Citizens Electoral Council leader Craig Isherwood said today.

“Swan is scheming to prop up the property bubble,” accused Mr Isherwood.
“The whole ‘competition’ nonsense is a smokescreen. Mortgages aren’t unaffordable because there is not enough competition; they are unaffordable because house prices are way too high!
“Australia’s housing market is just one big bubble, created by the banks, and by the government through scams such as the First Home Owners Grant, and when it blows—as it surely will—Swan knows it will take the banks with it.”

He pointed out that the reason the banks have borrowed so heavily from overseas, is that the only way to keep the bubble up is to feed it.

“The panic expressed by Hockey and now Swan about the trouble the banks will have next year accessing international funds, is because the banks won’t be able to keep feeding the bubble,” he said.
“So Swan’s solution is to feed them the money from the super funds. Yes, the private superannuation industry will be used as a bailout—exactly what Keating and Kelty and the banks designed it for.

“Where would the stock market have been over the past two decades without the trillions of dollars funnelled into it, by law, as compulsory super? And in recent years, a lot of Aussies have discovered what that was worth, when they saw their savings vaporise in market crashes, while all the ‘experts’ urged them to stay in for the ‘long-term’.

Compare Australia’s private super system, with America’s Social Security system, designed by Franklin Roosevelt, in which workers pay into the government’s Social Security fund, for a government-guaranteed return when they retire.”

Mr Isherwood continued, “Our system is a scam. It forces workers to become stock market gamblers, all to generate a pool of funds that banks and their fund managers can use to plug derivatives holes and the like.
“Now they want to plug the hole in the mortgage bubble. It is sacrificing workers to the Money Power.

Swan’s scheme of ‘covered bonds’ to encourage super funds to invest in mortgages could lead to the ridiculous situation where blue-collar workers may effectively foreclose on themselves! The super fund they pay into may hold the over-priced mortgages that they default on, and they lose their house in the present, to protect their investment for the future!”

He concluded, “Since the ALP betrayed its roots, and under Hawke and Keating abandoned its fight against the Money Power, and in fact joined the bankers-own Liberal Party in servitude to the City of London banking system, they have sacrificed the nation and its workers to banking pirates.

“The CEC is now the force against the Money Power and for the common good of the people of the nation. Don’t be their victim—join us!”
