The only underlying theme that makes sense of all Greenie policies is hatred of people. 

Hatred of other people has been a Greenie theme from way back. 

In a report titled "The First Global Revolution" (1991, p. 104) published by the "Club of Rome", a Greenie panic outfit, we find the following statement: "In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill.... All these dangers are caused by human intervention... The real enemy, then, is humanity itself."

News From the U.K. on Their Forthcoming Carbon Fraud.

 

This is One of the Sites on the List of the UK Government for Nuclear Power Plants.

That's right! Nuclear power is now considered by the International Green (read socialist) Movement as a renewable power source!

Despite the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan, another potential nuclear disaster in Japan that is being kept under the radar. There are THREE current nuclear emergencies in the US,two due to flooding and the other due to wildfires. These have not been widely reported in our mainstream media.

The insane Greens know that wind and solar can never supply all of any countries power needs!

So rather then develop cleaner methods of burning coal which Australia has plenty of, inexpensive, and it is realitevly harmless, The Green idea is to shut down all coal fired power stations and replace them with wind, solar and nuclear power plants. The last time I looked nuclear plants were not realy human friendly. To wit Fukushima and Chernoble.

Another "renewable" on their radar is gas fired power plants! I didn't know natural gas was a renewable power source? Maybe we can plant millions of acres to sugar cane as a renewable bio-fuel. However each litre of bio-fuel takes more then a litre of fossile fuel to produce!

WTF is this insanity from our politicians coming from?

During the last northern winter the weather got cloudy for 2 weeks and the wind did not blow for approximately the same period. Guess what happened? The UK had to buy nuclear power from France because the few remaining coal fired plants could not take up the backlog from no wind and no sunshine!

Anyway that is my opinion and now onto what is happening in the UK and what we can expect from the Julia and Bob carbon fraud.

"A green ‘stealth’ tax to encourage new wind farms and nuclear power plants could push tens of thousands of households into fuel  poverty but do nothing to reduce emissions.

The carbon floor price, announced in the UK March Budget, could even end up giving climate policies a ‘bad name’, the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) has warned.

To be introduced in 2013, the tax is intended to encourage investment in low-carbon energy – and raise billions for the Treasury.

Under the existing rules, energy companies must generate a fixed amount of green energy every year, or else buy permits to pollute on the open market.

The new tax kicks in if the cost of these permits falls too low. From 2013, the ‘floor price’ of a permit needed to emit a tonne of carbon will be set at £16, rising to £30 by 2020.

The higher cost of electricity will be passed on to household and business customers with energy-guzzling industries hit hardest.

But the IPPR, a centre-left think-tank, says that householders, many of whom are already struggling to pay their fuel bills, will also suffer. It estimates that 30,000 to 60,000 more households will be pushed into fuel poverty – defined as spending more than 10 per cent of your disposable income on heat and light.

The think-tank also warned that the UK scheme could lead to lower carbon permit prices elsewhere in Europe – and so do nothing to ease pollution.

The soaring cost of fuel means that 5.5million households are already living in fuel poverty —including two million pensioner households. This is compared to 1.4million households in 2004."

Al Gore in Denial

“Do as I say or you are going to die” is a very persuasive argument. Generally made, emphatically, by robbers, the imperative has been taken up by politicians. 

Off the lips of the former, it’s an instrument of force; off the lips of the latter, of fraud. When highwaymen say words to this effect, they convey, particularly when backed by a killing instrument, the ne’er-do-well’s control of events. 

When politicians command you to adopt their policies or perish, it demonstrates the opposite: a lack of control, desperation even.One gets that vibe from reading Al Gore’s “Climate of Denial” in the new issue of Rolling Stone. Therein, the former vice president claims that “what hangs in the balance is the future of civilization,” the current course is “suicidal for global civilization,” and global warming will swallow coastlines through flooding. 

“Should we care about the loss of Spain, France, Italy, the Balkans, Turkey, Tunisia?” Gore asks. “Look at what they say is in store for Mexico. Should we notice? Should we care?” 

Put more bluntly: Do as I say or you are going to die.

Why has Gore adopted the rhetoric of desperation?

Global warming is a losing issue. The failure of the UN’s climate conference in Bonn  shows waning appetite for the issue on an international scale. A new survey commissioned by Yale and George Mason Universities finds that less than half of Americans believe that human activities contribute to planetary warming and just 39 percent agreed that “most scientists think global warming is happening.” 

Pew’s annual “top policy priorities” poll ranks global warming 21st out of 22 issues in importance, beating out obesity but trailing such off-the-radar topics as transportation and lobbyists. When unemployment rates exceed nine percent and national debt approaches annual GDP, citizens tend to focus on concrete rather than amorphous issues. 

In hard times, we want the news, not the weather.

Al Gore blames another culprit for his cause’s demise, namely, free speech. The Nobel Prize winner writes in Rolling Stone that “the ‘conversation of democracy’ has become so deeply dysfunctional that our ability to make intelligent collective decisions has been seriously impaired.” 

It’s not just that the public square has become a dangerous place for global warming, but that skeptics of anthropocentric global warming have put their money where their mouths are. “Polluters and Ideologues are trampling all over the ‘rules’ of democratic discourse,” Gore complains. “They are financing pseudoscientists whose job is to manufacture doubt about what is true and what is false; buying elected officials wholesale with bribes that the politicians themselves have made ‘legal’ and can now be made in secret; spending hundreds of millions of dollars each year on misleading advertisements in the mass media; hiring four anti-climate lobbyists for every member of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.”

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) taxpayer-funded media organisation that is blantatly biased toward Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW).

The slightest mention of the sun having any effect om global warming sends the ABC spluttering heads into eye rolling spasms, almost apoplexic that their "religion" could be challenged!

For most of my sixty odd(!) years the ABC has been accused of  a pronounced left wing lean and this still fits so well with their present pro AGW bias as AGW is a global socialist push to even the playing field by making all of us church mouse poor.

Except of course the select few and so many people who are AGW proponents honestly believe they will be among the "select few". To those poor misguided buggars I suggest you have a look at the history of the peoples of the past Soviet Union under Communism. Then go to your local library and borrow a copy of George Orwell's (1984).

The ABC runs two free-to-air national television channels, four national radio networks, nine metropolitan radio stations in major cities, 51 radio stations across rural and regional Australia and a range of Internet and subscription services.

No Australian commercial network approaches the ABC in terms of reach and, arguably, influence. It is well-funded, amply staffed and under more or less constant criticism for projecting a left-wing take on just about every aspect of Australian life that it touches.

Grahame Morris, a chief of staff to former conservative Prime Minister John Howard, once described the national broadcaster as, “our enemies talking to our friends.”

The recently retired presenter of ABC TV’s national gardening show was a former member of the Communist Party.

ABC Radio National has Phillip Adams, another former member of the Communist Party, covering politics and current affairs for about seven hours a week. One of his regular guests is Bruce Shapiro, contributing editor to The Nation. 

The ABC, you see, takes no chances. Even when you were invited to tiptoe through the tulips, the ABC provided an ideologically reliable guide.

Obviously, the political and cultural disposition of the national broadcaster, as it sucks up taxpayer dollars, is an important and legitimate area of public debate. The left does not see it that way. Conservative criticism of the national broadcaster’s political and cultural perspectives is usually brushed off by the ABC and its friends as an attack on the “independence” of its journalists, producers and managers.

But an obligation to provide balance and diversity of opinion is enshrined in the ABC’s charter; and the corporation’s editorial policies and style guide set out rules for news and current affairs journalists in an attempt to ensure that the obligation is met.

There are broadcasting codes that can be used to try to hold the ABC accountable to its charter. The process is far from satisfactory because, in the first instance, the ABC itself is the arbiter of complaints made about it.

So between 2005 and 2008 the Howard Government attempted to use the Senate Estimates Committee process to take the problem of political bias straight to the corporation’s managing director.

Over the three-year period, the Government tabled more than 1,000 examples of ABC journalists violating the organization’s editorial guidelines and style guide―its rule books for providing fair and balanced reporting.

The examples were extracted from a very small part of the network’s output―the program transcripts that the ABC makes available online―and thus represented only a very small percentage of the total network programming. Unquestionably, a complete analysis of ABC output would have yielded thousands more.

On election night of the defeat of the 11-year-old centre-right Liberal-National coalition of John Howard in a federal election by the centre-left Australian Labor Party (ALP) led by Kevin Rudd, the ABC’s TV anchor and network icon Kerry O’Brien, on air live from the national tally room, declared that there had been a big swing “to the ABC” in Bennelong, the electorate of Prime Minister John Howard.
The gaffe, if O’Brien’s comment had, indeed, been unintended, provided an eloquent metaphor for the symbiotic relationship between the ABC and the ALP.

Maxine McKew, the ALP candidate who went on to win Bennelong from the prime minister, had been a 30-year veteran journalist and presenter at the ABC. She left the network at the end of 2006, laughing off suggestions that she intended to stand as a Labor candidate in the federal election.

Two months out of the ABC, McKew joined the office of Labor Party leader Kevin Rudd; and one month after that she announced her intention to contest Bennelong for the ALP.

Kerry O’Brien, the election night anchor, presents a 30-minute national current affairs program four nights a week on ABC TV. In the 1970s, O’Brien himself was on the staff of a Labor Party leader.

On Sunday mornings, ABC TV presents “Insiders,” a national review of the week in politics anchored by Barrie Cassidy. In the 1980s, Cassidy served as press secretary to Labor Party Prime Minister Bob Hawke.

The gratitude of one Labor prime minister for the election-time efforts of the ABC is recorded in the Cabinet diary of a former minister: “The ABC deserves a decent go because it has done well by the ALP in the last two elections,” Labor’s Paul Keating said in 1992.

The Rudd Labor Government has promised to restore a staff member to the ABC board of directors, a position that was abolished by the Howard Government. It has also said it will depoliticize the ABC board; which really means it will stack it with its own ideological allies and friends.

The ABC, after almost 12 years of confrontation with a conservative foe, once again has in Canberra a government that many of its foot-soldiers are happy to believe in.

Fewer Australians Back Climate Action

New research shows support for taking action on climate change is falling steeply.

The Lowy Institute's annual poll asked about 1,000 people for their opinions on a range of topics, including climate change and the war in Afghanistan.

The poll shows that there has been a steep fall in the number of Australians who think climate change is a serious problem which needs addressing now.

It says 41 per cent of respondents want to see action even if it means a significant cost, down 27 percentage points since 2006.

Thirty-nine per cent of poll respondents said they would not be willing to pay anything extra on their electricity bill to help tackle climate change.

Labor still can’t lie straight in bed

Greg Combet has decided to have a go at me for actually answering a straight question on Lateline last night.The paradox of course is that Greg won’t answer a straight question. The paradox of course is that when I ask Greg a straight question the answer will be silence.

How much will your Green-Labor-Independent carbon tax, Greg, cool the planet? What will be the reduction in temperature from an $11 billion carbon tax imposed on a country that produces 1.5 per cent of the world’s emissions?

You will never hear anyone in the government give a straight answer to this straight question. Until they are upfront with you, you should understand that they are trying to inspire guilt and faux righteousness in proxy for facts?

The fact that they ignore is that a carbon tax on Australians is a gesture. It’s a gesture whose only discernible effect will be to exacerbate the problems so clearly evident in last quarter’s record decline in GDP.

The tax will fall on people who can’t pass on the tax and become poorer as excess cash is taken from their lives. Why should these people be used to assuage the feigned guilt of people who are doing vastly better.

I also note that Greg Combet announces the support of financial market economists for a “carbon” price as some kind of victory. If I were the prospective trader of carbon credits I would definitely find myself a suite of economists to bestow the beauty of me making squillions from punting paper on a colourless, odourless gas.  It would be a splendid idea not because of what it is going to do to the climate but what it would do to change the renovations to my house. It would be a splendid idea because it would make the jacuzzi a real possibility.

So Greg Combet you support the people, and good luck to them, who have seen you coming and are going to make an absolute bucket load, and I’ll support the people who are going to have to pay for it.
